Network Construction Services has been engaged to complete concrete spalling repairs at the Hyde Park Plaza Hotel in Sydney.
The repair locations are positioned approximately 16 metres above ground level. Due to the height, limited access and site logistics, installing conventional scaffolding was not considered practical or cost-effective.
To safely access the affected areas, Network deployed its experienced rope-access and abseiling team. This approach allowed the repairs to be completed efficiently while minimising disruption to hotel operations, surrounding areas and building occupants.
The works include the removal of loose and deteriorated concrete, treatment of exposed reinforcement, reinstatement using approved concrete repair materials, and application of protective finishes where required.
As the works relate to a Class 2 building, Network also coordinated inspections by the appointed Class 2 Design Practitioner at the nominated critical stages. This ensures the repairs are completed in accordance with the approved remedial design, relevant Australian Standards and regulatory requirements.
With experienced in-house remedial technicians, rope-access capabilities and Class 2 building expertise, Network Construction Services continues to be the remedial builder of choice for complex façade and concrete repair projects.
